New arena project - Project X

We have a new server project being planned.
The project will be to build a new, very special arena.
The plan is for MCA to host a monthly special event there, open to individuals and teams, for prizes.

A few ideas (subject to change) so far are :
It will be MUCH bigger than a normal arena.
It will have multiple starting points.
It will be both PvE and PvP - there will be traps, mobs, and players to fight.
Some of the walls, rooms, doors, etc may change randomly during play (redstone).
Observers (fans and teammates) outside the arena may be able to control some of the arena features.
The goal of the arena is to find a specific token or exit.
Some rooms will have portals to other areas.


I am looking for volunteers to help design and build the project.
The build team will not be limited but the design team will be limited to half a dozen or so volunteers.
(Design team members MUST be willing to use Google Groups to communicate.)
Please specify if you want to be part of the Design, the Build or both teams.

If you only wish to help for a day or so, please say you are volunteering for the SHORT TEAM - we will use you to help dig out build spaces, build floors, etc.

I could help with any redstone design and with all teams if needed however if you get enough people for the design team I am happy to just problemsolve for you.

Although this kind of covers what I was planning of an arena my plans are of course smaller and more focused to pvp rather than a dungeon crawl!

Love the idea. Id probs be short team due to only having one arm and clearing spaces is fairly easy.

ideas could be tunnels

multiple houses or hotels where everyone spawns in different houses and one of the houses has the egg.

I am interested in doing some Command Block stuff for this. I have a few cool Command Block ideas: automation, teams, resets, moving landscape, special items, checkpoints, and more!

note: Command Blocks require staff approval and setup work.

I'll add you to the design team. Run your ideas by MK first, get some feedback. If he's ok with them, then you can add them to the design suggestions and we'll see how it'll all fit together.

We have 1-2 more spots on the design team and as many volunteers for the build team as we can get.

The design team is in place and we're starting to kick ideas around.

We're looking at themes, special features and general layout right now. Hurry and post your ideas or lose the chance to add your input to the discussion!
