I feel staff has added a good amount to the server this year(3 new worlds!!), and I would rather see the new worlds we have taken care of,
than keep adding stuff which we may not be ready for. In other words, I'm not wanting to add new worlds until at least 1.8/2015.

That being said, factions, or some kind of survival world that is "better" than pve seems to be a recurring theme, so there's a good possibility staff will look at how we can do that in future. One idea would be to run another player survey on possible server changes in 2015 and see what the results would be.

Well you sort of are.
The factions plugin has changed considerably since it was last active on the server and we'd like to wait until 1.8 before we start adding any more to the server.

1.8 is a pretty big update and with all the drama over at bukkit things aren't looking so great.

Mojang have owned Bukkit for years and have never bothered to help them out and a few of the devs never even knew.
Over the last few weeks pretty much everyone over at bukkit has left the project and the DMCA takedown request is from a bukkit dev that doesn't want Mojang to have his code.

Whilst Mojang said they'd be updating bukkit to 1.8 themselves, that is not possible with the takedown request in place. The issue will need to be resolved or the code would need to be removed or changed considerably.

so Mojang will be updating it themselves, so I wouldn't worry to much, you just need to wait for them to work on bukkit for 1.8

although I must say it was a rude move from the original people from bukkit to just try and "discontinue" bukkit. there are about 10 million accounts. thing about around 8-9 million people suddenly can't play on their favorite servers, because they got bored. :/

That all happened before the DMCA takedown.
That will need to be solved before Mojang is able to push out an update on bukkit how it is now.
