Neyland Stadium

Hello guys, I recently decided to undertake a new project (And actually complete this one fully) I decided I'd do a model of Neyland Stadium. Currently I only have the border marked out on the plot, and I plan for the stadium to take up all of the plot, or possibly leaving some room for a parking lot, though I doubt I'll do that. Hopefully I'll have some pictures to share by the end of the weekend! Anyway, for those of you who don't know what Neyland Stadium is, allow me to tell you. Neyland Stadium is the football stadium of MAH FAV team, the Tennessee Vols. Here's some pics of it:

I don't really have an ETA on this build, but since I won't be on as much as usual on the weekdays for a while, this build while probably take me past Halloween. tl;dr hope you enjoy

Love the idea! I'm a huge college football fan, so I'd love to see one of the most iconic SEC stadiums built on our server.

Here's what I got done last weekend, hope to get part of the stands done this weekend.

I haven't gotten as much done as I'd like over the past few weeks, but I'm hoping to really go at it since I have Fall break until next Wednesday
Here's the progress I've made:

I hope to finish off the seating today or tomorrow, then start on the boxes above the stands and the lights.

Finished the stands, added the rim thing on the top of the stands. The platform on the left is the start of a press box above the stadium.

Lights above the boxes, gonna hide the redstone next then replicate it on the other box.
Oh, and I've almost finished the boxes, they'll be done when 1.7 comes and I can get my black glass in there ;D

There's the shot of the finished lights, I have less than a stack of redstone left now, so I'm gonna be all over PVE when it resets next. Also, DCL gave me the idea to hook the lights up to daylight sensors, so big thanks to him.

The jumbotron, which was more a challenge than I thought, due to the amount of ink I needed (Thanks to Leprince for selling a good amount to me)

Also, thanks to Maple for this little...gift I plan to make a little...exhibit about this. :>

I haven't worked on this build at all for the last few weeks. I'm starting to feel reinvigorated w/ this project, so I'm hoping to get some of the outside scenery done over Christmas break, in 2 corners there's gonna be parking lots/entrances, in 1 corner there's gonna be some trees & stuff, and in the other corner I'm going to do something involving the Tennessee River (Which runs right next to the stadium) Over the past couple of days, I've started to fill in the water in between the stone outline and the stadium, and I also got some stairs done a few weeks ago and never uploaded pictures.


Almost forgot, I built a Christmas tree a few days ago:

I finished filling in all the stone around Neyland, and I added in support beams! Which only means one thing: There are only four more things left to do: Decorate the press boxes (This will be saved for 1.7 so I can use stained glass and whatever else they added) Adding hallways around the stadium w/ some food vendors and whatnot, The locker rooms (No idea where I will fit these in, so wish me luck on that) and as I said in the previous post, some of the stuff outside of Neyland

Any and all feedback is welcome on the support beams. I'm unsure whether or not I like em, so getting others' opinions will help. I might add in more of them, depending on the hallways and locker rooms.

Well, I'm done with the stadium itself until 1.7, so I am VERY happy about that. The only thing left to do is to decorate the press boxes, which I will be using black glass and (hopefully) other new items. The hallway is the stone thing below the platform w/ the fences. The box on the ground in the far left is the locker room. Doesn't look too great from the outside, but I really like how it turned out on the inside. I've decided not to do the tree/river thing in the corners, b/c I don't see a way I could get it to mesh well w/ the surroundings.

Now I'm going to set up a little wall or whatever with the names of everyone who helped supply me with the goods to build this. Thank you all who have given me your stuff, it is highly appreciated

Kinda stumped on a decent set-up for a "thank you wall" for those who helped out with the project. I plan to put one in each corner of the plot, near the outermost support beam. If anyone has any ideas for a decent design, please let me know. I also made a small addition to the locker rooms: the "I will give my all for Tennessee today!" signs above the entrance.

Edit: I found a nice design for the wall, thanks to strikerpro for the idea!

Later edit: I'm just gonna put the "thank you's" inside the press boxes, the walls clashed with the look of the stadium, so I scrapped it. Again, big thanks to strikerpro, I'll most likely be using that wall design for a future project
