Hi. This is just a suggestion to deal with the people who say things like "I dont have paint" or "My dad wont let me download programs". There could be an online form to do most of the work for them. It would be on a page, have an Iframe of the world map inside it, when the user zooms into the area he likes, press a button and a snapshot of the iframe is generated. Then there would be a rectangle tool using javascript that can outline the land. And then when the user finished making the rectangle it would get sent to a php script to overlay the rectangle on the iframe image and then save it as a jpeg onto the forum's gallery. Just a suggestion. I know the current system works as a kind of a filter too hehe.

i tryed looking into something like this. i just have no way to do it. im not so good with php/java coding. i would make it all automated if i could.

edit the land claim system is also kinda a noob filter system. if you can make it through the filter we know your actually trying to be part of the community and not just greif in the automated system.

The system is perfect as it is now. This way we won't get any pestful/bothersome players in our server.

http://www.phpriot.com/articles/static-google-maps <-- I dont know why I said IFrame i forgot the iframe would get rendered on the client not server. But you can just pass a latitute and logitude into the API and it will generate an image. It can all be done with PHP.

But yes. I know the current system is a bit of a filter, and I like it that way, I just feel sometimes the moderators must get frustrated.

People who make excuses about not being able to use paint are just lazy liars. They hope that you'll just give up and say "Oh ok, since you can't use paint you can have some land anyways derp".

if they don't know how to use printScreen or paint, tell them to use: snipping tool. Basic built in feature of (i think) vista and higher. It's real easy to use and its noob friendly...

That would probably work to make the image but there's just way too much work to make the whole application.

In the not so distant future, regions will have plots defined by the RM and the player simply picks the plot. <brush off hands>

The simplest ideas are always the best Mrjangles. Set plots like in towns save argument and confusion. Claims will be quicker and new builders happier.

Builders that want plots of uniform size and spacing.

Who says thy have to be the same, I do not have any screen shot issues (accept when other people tell my applicants they need one), and my claims are all different sizes.

refined you have shown me that last link you posted. well thats kinda where we got the idea for the region and landclaim layouts on the map as it is.
