Well, if the war zone plugin were to be added that's not what an arena would like. Look into the plugin. I have a link in one of my previous replies. But, that does make an alright arena.

I don't think we're looking to add another plugin. The faction one has warzones, that should be good enough

I believe this server has so much more potential and I also believe that the War plugin is a necessity to that growth.

Plugins don't always make improvements to the server. We're running quite a few plugins right now and adding more usually just increase the time it takes for us to update.

We'll look in to the plugin of course.

I actually designed something like this in historic before we had the mod support. It's just SW of the frontier region center. It's made out of sandstone. It's actually one of the reasons I built the sun way like I did. Jangles and I were planning to turn it into a pvp arena once we had plugins to do it. warzones was available at the time, by jangles didn't install it because.we were trying to keep the server plugins number down. I was thinking we could.just port it into the pvp world

Yeah I believe that last October was pre multiworld madness so we would have been struggling for locations (and pvpers). Also Androcks, I'm not so sure about natural arenas, I feel the added enclosed and symmetrical nature of an arena levels the playing field (assuming both have the same kit)

Also myself and mk have been working away on a basic design which we'll open up to community input once we've got the overall workings of it finalised, plus of course we'll need some help with materials and construction if anyone's interested!

The Mobarena plugin is usually up-to-date... can't you use that and set pvp to true and disable all mobs from spawning? Or maybe some passive mobs for food? The reason I am suggesting this is because then you can easily set different classes and you can only begin once everyone is ready. Not sure about teams or anything, but I suppose you could just work together... in an arena I don't see more than 8 people at a time, so it would not be that hard to keep note of who is in your team. You could also have different helmets per team or something like that...

hi again
kking visited the construction site and gave two suggestions

one was on roof construction, build with half blocks and cover with lava.

the other was about the floor
yennage build the floor with a bunch of pistons, kking suggested putting in redstone to wire the pistons up
then we could have some switches, that could be controlled by the players, to open or close the pistons.

i made a pattern for a dome that i will start and see how it looks, i plan to make it from dirt blocks first, then cover with half blocks and eventually cover with lava.

as far as war zones or region flags or plugins, I don't think anything is neccessary other than to make the arena unclaimable wilderness with protected blocks.
Leave the regular faction rules in place and battle it out just like we do now.

If you want to fight someone in your faction or someone who is an ally, that can be done in the nether.
I think we should build another arena( or copy an exsisting one ) and put it in the nether as a protected block pvp zone.
....just my 2 cents, and if you want to come to the build site, please let me know in game.
