Red Wool Border for PvP Safe-zone

I went on to a few PvP servers recently and saw that around their safe-zone they had made a border of red wool which I thought was something we could do on this server too.
 
We've tried something like this before, because the safezone isn't a perfect square we can't protect the safe zone with a region that can't be blown up etc. so the borders are just destroyed within a few hours.

Also as the survival island is above water it seems a little pointless to have a random floating border on the water.

Only areas that could possibly get a border would be the ice area in front of CCE and I'd have to make it out of bedrock.
 
If you want to survive, go as far as you can from the survival island because it tends to get safer the further you go, unless you get unlucky and come too close to an enemy faction base.
 
I think everyone has found you striker. Your base is probably the easiest to find.
