Server lagg

Dear people,

I suffer from severe lagg since a day or two and I'm not the only one complaining about it so I thought about creating a post on the forum about this and voila. Is there anything the admins / Yennage can do about this? The lagg is really keeping me away. Every 5 / 6 seconds everything stops and it ends after another 5 or 6 seconds. I've asked frequently of people suffer from the lagg too and it seems it is not me but the server. Does it have to do with the playerattack recently? Maybe a DDoS on the server IP?

Seems he is from the Netherlands.
You need to remember that the server is located in Canada. You should expect a little lag on the server.

There are times when its the server and we try to reboot it as often as possible. Obviously we can't be around 24/7 so there may be times where the server is lagging for an hour or so.

But it's not just us, as even some canadians are complaining about the lag...

As I've said before, the server needs to be rebooted regularly due to a memory leak.
It wasn't really noticeable previously but is now after the server downgrade. We're all just gonna have to deal with it until the leak is found.

Haha...I actually lol'd at that. We've been noticing the lag again today; pretty bad now. Could we get a restart maybe?

There a reason you can't find the leak? I mean, can't you just disable plugins until you notice improvements and add them back on one by one?

I troubleshoot computer problems. Just seems the logical answer.

Bukkit is the main server plugin that manages everything else. We can't disable it without losing everything.

I'm not saying Bukkit is the problem. I play on another server that uses the same version. We do not get as many lags as you. So, I do not think it is Bukkit, in a whole. That's my 2 cents.

We've run tests in private with only bukkit running and surprise surprise its still leaking. You obviously aren't watching what's going on with the current bukkit dev builds as they've fixed about 5 memory leaks lately.
The plugins that a server runs replies on certain parts in bukkit, just because this particular server you're on doesn't leak as much doesn't mean much at all.
Have you considered that maybe they have completely different server specs and that they aren't running exactly the same plugins so don't rely on bukkit in the same way.
