This is nothing official obviously since I myself am nothing official to this server yet, but I wanted a place where I could get some ideas out about how server portals will affect the balance of the Minecraft Universe. I want to brainstorm the procedure and rules servers could use to link to Minecraft Addicts. This might never be used because it would be too difficult to control, but it would be a shame not to connect the Minecraft Universe where feasible.
---
Rule 0, The Inexorable Rule: Minecraft Addicts is the federal seat of government for any network of linked servers that includes Minecraft Addicts, and member states agree to cooperate with Minecraft Addicts, its moderators, and its administration. No affiliated server may institute a policy that infringes on this rule. Member states reserve the right of secession.
Rule 1: All candidate affiliated servers are to draft a server constitution. That constitution must be ratified by the representatives of the federal government on the MA server. Then a server portal may open between MA and the member state server. Any server that implements a ratified constitution but does not enforce it to the detriment of the MA server is subject to sanctions up to and including destruction of their MA-side portals.
Rule 2: MA will restrict all spontaneous resource creation through economic controls. Any server found to have runaway economies will be sanctioned up to and including destruction of their MA-side portal.
Rule 3: All affiliated servers will adhere to the trading rates set by the MA Economic Board. Local changes to the rates of certain crafted materials my be implemented to encourage travel within the network, but the prices of raw materials is fixed and modified by the Economic Board for continued stability.
Rule 4: MA retains rights to appoint an ambassador moderator in the territories annexed to the Minecraft Addicts network. The ambassador is to be granted moderator-grade privileges and is responsible on affiliated servers only for overseeing intra-server trade, investigating threats to MA affiliated territory, and peacekeeping operations. MA does not provide policing services to affiliated servers. MA ambassadors are representatives of MA only, and as a result, are expected to behave with the utmost respect, understanding, and discretion of a diplomatic envoy. All violations of that relationship are a cause for sanction of the ambassador, including but not limited to revocation of moderator-grade privileges from the member state server, dismissal from the ambassador position, and blacklist from the MA server and all member state servers.
Rule 5: All MA member state servers are to adopt the MA blacklist, banning all players listed and keeping the list reasonably updated, at least once a day. Likewise, member state servers are to adopt the MA whitelist, granting whitelisted users a minimum of visitor/non-builder privileges. Any act that causes a MA-native to become blacklisted on a member state server will be investigated by MA moderators, as MA-native is expected to behave with respect to all others as a guest on their server.
Rule 6: Member states may appoint one representative to represent their server in the ruling body for the MA-centered server network. Member states may not create a server for the express purpose of gaining a vote in the legislature. Member states must exhibit a vibrant and sustained environment of creation and discovery to be considered vote worthy.
Rule 7: Member states must not link to other servers outside the federal MA government. Interconnected servers among member states are perfectly fine, but are optional and must be broken as soon as the federal MA government rules a member state to be severed or seceded.
Rule 8: All rights not expressly given to the federal MA government are reserved to the member state governments.
