Don't worry guys, the problem appears to be at Mojang's end as I'm having trouble connecting to a number of servers.
For the time being I may as well do some routine maintenance.

Mojang's problem is fixed. I can connect to other servers now.

Got the same failure Jeff. It is something on Mojang's end I believe.

Server is back online.
Logins are still having a little trouble so you'll still get "Failed to verify username!". Keep retrying and you'll get on soon enough.
