Sponges not working correctly

When using sponges on the bottom of an ocean, they remove water like they are supposed to but when the sponges are removed, the water from the upper regions does not fill in the void.

its just a glitch with the upper water blocks not getting updated, they should fill the void if you place a torch or something near them
