Subway "Hubs" of each region

I think it would be a great idea to add a central hub for the subway in each region like Bird and YMMD were mentioning. People could tell one another to meet up at the "hub" to build somewhere and whatnot. If it's ok maybe I could come up with a design and stick them in some regions when Bird gets working on the subway again.
 
Bird gets back on the subway when the Monopoly board is completed.

remember to incorporat the warps into your systems.
 
its a good idea cause then some one can warp to a area then jump on a train to get closer to center. makes sence no?
 
it does, and thats the plan. i want to have a subway station at every warp if possible
 
I'm not sure if anyone knows this but I am a HUGE mine cart enthusiast. I'm not ready to plot a station on my plot until I've mauled the basics of my project right. I did have a crazy idea for a station, even with the lack of experience with redstone, but I might pull off a MSPaint design of it.

I do think we need a central hub station, probably a huge one, that links to all routes. What I will need to know is 'Does every player have their own mine cart?'
 
Me and BedRock have been discussing on building one main station close to the center of uptown. I will PM you bird with the location when it is finished. We were thinking of starting it when the server goes to 1.5.

I could help you guys out with this. I've been saving up iron and I live in Uptown too
 
Sorry I haven't replied on this before but I have a HELL of a lot of research and mining to do before we/I can start on this.

And you're right BeuTube. We will need some space to practice some methods and such on how to build stations. We also need some practice on redstone wiring. Trying to understand latches/flip flops atm.
 
Ya just a basic station that branches out into different railways in the region. I wouldn't think much practice with redstone would be needed

And to stevz's question, we could just hav some chests to supply them, but it would make it easier if every had their own.
 
for the hubs actually i would prefer to direct the construction myself, so dont go building a hub without me letting you know, because i might not have subway planned to that specific region. plus i have some standards for some of the actual hubs themselves. its good that you guys are interested though, it means I have helpers.
 
Ya I definitely won't run off and build without your consent. I probably couldnt come up with a layout for a station anyway :/. Also, maybe an idea for the hubs IF we build them in different regions would be to incorporate their regional flag somewhere on/in the hub.
 
Update

UPDATE: Stevz and I hav been working on some prototypes for the stations.
Stevz has finished the wiring and has successfully created a promising "mock" minecart-return system. I hav been working on a design for the look of the station and am pleased with the overall results. I might post some pics when I am back on.
