Anyone who has seen my uphouse has probably heard me talking about the Door scale.

Basically, it allows a builder to scale a real life build into minecraft accurately, by using the size of its door, which we
know is 2 blocks.

Then, we simply compare the size of certain features, like windows, and roof size, to the size of the door.

Sorry, u cant see the writing, but notice how most of the things the same size as the door are the same amount of blocks as the door on the minecraft replica.

Using this system, it is possible to scale small details easily, as long as it has an average sized door. You can also use a person as a scale, since Minecraft players are 2 blocks tall, so if theres a person in the pic, u can use him/her as a scale.

Please comment in the Forums weather you think this is a good system or not.

(and yes, that is the Uphouse in real life... including interior schematics....)

Yes, i use this method for scaling too. I started planning the layout of Dalaran scaling up from the size of my character, in game. However, in this case, i realised that the only way i was to keep true to the scale with all the towers, was to start the city from Bedrock. So, Dalaran is slightly smaller than it should be (about 2/3). The Door/Person, 2-block method is a very good tip, however. Thumbs-up from me.
