The Hardcore Mode Challenge

I will post some pics of mine some time but first I will say sorry to the villagers for demolishing some of their houses and requisitioning another!
 
lol its not that the challenges are hardcore but the gamemode is hardcore, but i guess it couldnt hurt to have some Hardcore Challenges too.
 
Kill a creeper with a wooden sword! Woo!

Also, try surviving a night in a house without doors, just openings instead. It's like a zombie defense game. (If you want more fun, try adding spider-sized doors too, or make the house out of glass so the creepers stare at you.)

Have fun trying these. I'm too wimpy to try hardcore mode... It just seems like a waste of time and effort to have it deleted when you die...
 
This week's Snapshot is out for testing! What cool features have been added this go-around? Let's take a look:


* Many minor bug fixes and tweaks
* Doors have been changed to properly detect if they are open or closed. Double doors in existing maps will need to be updated
* Villagers will move indoors during night and rain, and socialize with each other
* Zombies will break down wooden doors on hard difficulty
* Added cat sounds
* Better movement for mobs in water
* Added rare mob item drops

We will be examining some of these changes in greater detail, but in the meantime, we have the following to consider - how are your villagers behaving with this update? How awesome is it to have working double-doors? What sort of rare items do mobs drop? Let us know about it!

Yep.... Hardcore is going to be a whole lot harder....
 
MCA Hardcore Challenge
Updated as of (02/12/12)

Missions so far…
  • Collect 1337 Cobblestone.
  • Make a Wool Wall™ (Every color of wool, on a wall)
  • Make a Block of Iron, Gold, and Diamond
  • Make a Panic Room (Material that is blast resistant)
  • Build a statue of yourself
  • Make a rollercoaster
  • Make a TNT Cannon that fires off at least 10 TNT
  • Locate a Mob Spawner (Dungeon)
  • Build a mob farm using a mob spawner (Dungeon)
  • Get 101 enderpearls and 101 endereyes
  • Destroy an entire village, down to the last block
  • Kill a creeper with a wooden sword
  • Survive a night in a house without doors
  • Make the house out of glass
  • Defend your villagers from door-destroying zombies (Need Pre-Release Client)
 
Two challenges require two different villages to be found...
 
I dont believe you have to do them in order. for example you could protect the villagers THEN destroy it. :)
