well a little update since the forum is backwashed a few months, here's where i am now:

Just so you know i'm back and building again :) The hiatus is over!

was off mc for a while, im probably gonna play more now again, here's the view of my lands from the map:

Huge arse skeleton is finally complete!!Next comes the island that will be around it and the lake in which it will be submerged in.

HUGE thanks to dph for supplying me with stone and repairing my buffed pickaxes! :D

also he is going to supply me with more and better screens of the beast.

Making the island around the skelly...need dirt, hell of a lot of dirt... anyone allow me to come to their plot and stripmine it of dirt? :P

Time for a recap! It's been a year and some since i came to MCA and little less since i started this build, let us recap on what's up. My original idea was simple, i was playing Ar Tonelico and was inspired to recreate the tower from it spanning form surface to space in MC. The tower itself was pretty much finished in little over three months and my ambitions grew.

Currently, my build is definitely not the largest but it is by far ONE OF the more complex and widest-spanning builds on MCA's Build map, covering the underground, surface, sky, and all of it interconnected both in theme and structure. The Tower has since become the skylands, featuring a full fledged continent, far different from the common floating dirt boards every other player has, complete with dense flora, rivers and lakes. A small town of Acropolis mimicking the original Greek one, a fully functioning lighthouse that will be part of a future expansion, and now currently growing is the second floating continent even bigger than the first with a giant reptilian skeleton covering its lenght 320 blocks across!

I do not hide that I'm proud of what i've built so far and it only makes me happier when people come and enjoy what i have created, my build is a legacy for MCA that i hope will be looked on proudly by the community :) I will now guide you through the skylands from where it began, to where it is:

This is where it all began, on this patch of dirt, the only island in that plot at the time, the staging area from where i started to build a world in the sky.

From there the Tower rose to the sky, with the three skeleton guardians watching over it.

The Tower was originally all-cobble construction, but as time passed it was covered and polished with bricks and stone.

The inside is a library (to this point still not fully complete due to lack of leather), library floors go upwards..

and dungeon floors go underground..

Bottom is the Eternal forge, a part of the build which will be properly built at a later date

With the tower complete the first sky continent was created, and in time finished, covered in life and relief

The Acropolis followed it, its town square dwarfed by the Tower that brought people into the sky

The Pantheon with the statue of the Creator (ME of course! :P) was the last point of completion after which i took a longer hiatus from MC

And what comes next soon you will see, i hope you enjoy my build and will continue to follow my progress.

Progress on the island is sporadic, material demands are high, currently i am building the lake, deep lakes require a platform of cobble to calm the water after which the water is let down into the lakebed, long and tedious process. This sky island is 3 times larger than the original one.

The lake is complete, making deep still lakes is a pain in the arse but it looks great, combination of submerged trees and glowstone makes a really nice soothing effect, one side of the base of the island is almost complete, after the other side comes the really annoying part of making the islands underside
