for all those who are having trouble logging, read this.

Update to the latest beta and then replace this file with the one in you bin
http://www.minecraftaddicts.com/downloads/minecraft.jar

Here's how:
1: Download Client: http://www.minecraftaddicts.com/downloads/minecraft.jar
2: Run minecraft beta as normal to update to the latest client.
3: Uncheck "remember my password", login.
4: Quit.
5: replace beta minecraft.jar in your appdata\.minecraft\bin folder. Copy the paths below if you can't find the folder.
- Windows 7/Shista: C:\%APPDATA%\.minecraft\bin
- Windows XP: C:\%APPDATA%\roaming\.minecraft\bin
- MAC (replace your name with your name): /Users/(yourname)/Library/Application Support/minecraft/bin
6: Run Minecraft again and connect as normal. Leave remember my password unchecked.

You can conirm which version you're running by looking at the top left of the minecraft window.

Thank you Bige22. The Server announced file said I was using an outdated client. This one worked.

Again thanks.

I think I am just going to wait it out until Notch has released it automatically. Instead of doing all this mumbo jumbo that could potentially mes up my Minecraft and/or my computer.

Login on mac

I did all the replacing but when i try getting on the server it says "out dated client"

any solutions

Yea I got the same problem, thats when I just deleted my bin file and then reopened and am just going to wait it out.

there shouldn't be any issues if you are up to date then just replace the minecraft jar, however i know 0 about macs, so sorry i can't help if thats specific although it shouldn't be java is java. and it wont mess anything up, if you do end up having trouble or wish to go back to beta 1.2 DELETE your bin folder. Upon doing this next time you run minecraft it will restore the bin folder and everything inside with the most rescent version from minecraft.net!!!

This can't harm you computer, and I'm only saying that because no one's ever reported problems with it. Lots of minecraft players are using it so I think we can trust it at this point.

Ok, well what if I still do it and it says Outdated Client? What can I do to fix that?

caps really necessary?
@on-topic nice release, im waiting for the server to go to 1.2 for now :P

yea sorry i have a script for megarelease that allows me to avoid the count down ads and graphic enter. i also use it for icefilms so i dont bother with any other storage account i guess i could use my gnome one account....
