Voids?

Okay so I did not know really where to post this. Anyways I found a void in my mine. I did not know what they do until now and I lost everything in my inventory including many valuables. I don't know exactly what can be done, if anything. I had my gold pick, plenty of coal, some gold ore, 45 ish torches etc. Oh and tons of cobble (idc about that). I got the diamond tools back through the kit so I'm not worried about that I just wish I could get the other items back. Anyways please leave information relating to this. Thanks!

If you are mining at a level less than 6 in land generated with the earlier system you may encounter a drop into the void. Never mine straight down. There is no recovery or remediation for dropping out of the world, consider it in the same light as taking a swim in lava on non-immortal servers or in your single player games.

What Lorax said. There is no way you can get your items back from void drops.

Agh! The only thing I really cared about in that was the gold ore and pick. Ugh!

Just go digging, you'll find gold somewhere, just make sure you stay away from bedrock, otherwise be careful.
I suggest trying outside the border.

remember bedrock has 5 layers try and stay just above it

gold isnt too rare so im sure youll get you stuff back soon
