Hello everyone from MCA,

I just want to get this off my chest.

I joined the server on January 24th 2011
That means I have been on the server for a long long time and have seen many people come and go.
I have also seen a lot of changes, both good and..... less good.
I remember the server trying to stick close to vanilla, but made for people who like to build.
This meant total safety everywhere and a shop to be convenient.
Everyone on the server was very helpful and always ready for you.
I remember the crew being close to the people (yes I have actually had conversations with mrJangles when he was really active)
I was active enough to be promoted to RM, and this is the first time I got to see MCA from behind the scenes.
It was really interesting to not only be on the server as a user, but as a staff with more means to help people out.
I was actually known by quite a few people.
It was fun for a while.
But in my eyes the server was changing.
And not to a good degree.
More worlds were added, more plugins came.
It changed all the rules of the server.
People started fighting, arguing and in general started to be more hostile.
Added to that the new rules restricted a lot in the server.
I just didn't have the feeling this was a server aiming for vanilla anymore, and more importantly, I didn't feel myself at home with the community anymore.
So I decided to resign myself from being staff and actually got less and less active on the server.
The server just couldn't satisfy my needs anymore.
Of course I occasionally still logged in, did some stuff, communicate, but it didn't feel the same anymore.

And then after a while this happened...

Of course I was shocked when I heard Commander and mscommander suddenly resigned and decided to get myself into this.
I heard some stories that were quite worrysome because of this and honestly didn't know what I hoped would happen.
Very soon after this happened I see a lot of users (me included) questioning several things about the server.
This is a lot of questions asked, something I totaly agree on.
At the moment I really would like to see the answers to the questions asked.
Most of these questions are (in my eyes) innocent and should be able to be answered.
Because the staff doesn't answer these questions I feel that the trust between staff and members is weaker than ever before.
I really get sad about this, still very interested where this will go.
I wish everyone the best and I will follow any news about this.

Greetings everyone,

That crazy cake-dude astraeasan

I would like to add to this (the letter was written kinda late)

I wrote that I had conversations with mrJangles JUST because I wanted to point out that he was actually a part of the community in the beginning. He was as you call it "one of us".
This in contrast to how I see him now. "Someone" in control of the server, telling what he wants from the crew, and letting the crew figure it out.
Also still in contrast to what he does now, yes he is active, but not a part of the community. He posts and tells what he wants, but he is still the guy controlling the server "at a distance".

In the beginning the crew seemed like an unity, but when I got in the crew myself I found out the opposite.
Everyone was dealing with stuff in a different way than another.
I really want to unify people in this regard, usually by asking questions in threads and seeing different responds.
I hoped that that would point stuff like that out.
But instead of people sitting together and talking about it how problems actually could be solved, everyone ignored it when faced with this problem.
Sometimes I actually felt being seen as a hindrance as a crew and stirring things up because of how everyone reacted to my actions.
I hope however that both the staff AND the community unify more so everyone will have a better time.
I also hope that the staff and the community unify with each other and put all differences besides them.
I hope everyone will realize this doesn't only mean that the community has to adapt to the staff rules, but more importantly that the staff (EVERY ONE) should adapt to whatever is happening at the community and act upon it.
Talk it out with everyone, keep stuff open, as I said, unify.

that....was the most beautiful thing i have ever read on these forums , i couldnt agree more things are not what they once were and to be honest as strange as it seems i actually "liked" the closer to vanilla gameplay
