Thank you Yennage. That was all I wanted. I'm not so disappointed with the perk structure as I am with Alien. And I get where god mode would be used, I just hate seeing these options offered when there are worlds designed specifically for that. Back in the day when I donated, it was exactly that. I didn't give a stuff about caps and what not. But now it's not so much a donation. I understand that people may be needing more incentive to keep the server afloat. I also get that there is still access to everything else without paying a cent. But I didn't think the good ol' MCA would stoop to these marketing techniques.

I know nobody cares for my input because i'm not wanted on the Server or Forums, but... NOTHING ELSE TO LOSE. Time to add my two cents :)

I like the good ol' days of MCA. Remember? The factions. Drop down PvP and the faction farms! Thats when i LOVED MCA, in fact MCA made me quite a "no-lifer" back then.

Now, seeing as a lot of people are having the same thoughts regarding the older MCA, i have a idea.

What if, we take the old world and then make a Multiverse portal back to it and we get rid of "War" (which is no longer used, by most)

Idea number 2. Perhaps bring back the old drop down PvP and the farms nice and close!

Just my thoughts. Don't hate the poster, hate the whatever

No problem eaten, I see where you're coming from with your point about donations and not needing an incentive to offer support too (I feel the same way every time I'm faced with the inclination of "donating" for something) I guess the best I can offer is that we won't be setting up a telemarketing team to call you at dinnertime extolling the benefits of creative access :)

I'm unsure of how valid this analogy is or whether it'll help but try and think of the perks system as being like Kickstarter except people who don't financially back still get the finished product, whilst the backers get the perks and what not.

To try and vaguely answer your issues Jesse, I'm afraid the very same drop-down PvP and factions section that you mention as being fun is the same thing that a bunch of users didn't like at the time. Unfortunately, PvP and factions worlds have never really been our core focus and so far it's proven impossible to find a configuration that seems to please the majority of users long-term, to use an example, initial factions was seen was one-sided (with later complaints being more focused on it becoming stagnant once everyone got a decent setup), PvP village was heavily criticised for it's small size and the inability to build "bases", larger "factions 2" was cited as being too big and, by extension, too boring whilst the most recent "Civ" incarnation didn't really have any longevity at all. People [un]fortunately tend to recall only the good times of things they remember whilst forgetting anything negative associated with it, heck I remember every hype moment of 2012 whilst conveniently forgetting every annoying incident.

Not a day goes by that we don't regret having found a workable pvp solution that seems to please the majority without requiring a reset every few months (again, another divisive issue) but our core focus will always be the Build world and it's associated setup.

As with eaten, if you've got any other questions about it drop 'em in and we'll try to answer (just try to keep this on topic to eaten's issue, if you feel you'll be straying into other queries separate to donations, PMs or another thread may be better)

Continuing the spirit of Jesse's don't hate the poster ethos, for what it's worth, alien does a heck of a lot of work for us behind the scenes on the technical side of the server. It's unfortunately something that users don't always directly see but plugins and the server itself are kept regularly up to date and running thanks to his efforts.

Yeah I know what you mean, it's just sad to see a server bring all of it's financial issues to the forefront, and keep them there.

And as for Alien, I respect how much he does for the server and his technical knowledge, but not him or how he has handled himself recently.

Yeah totally, you won't need to worry about us bombarding users with in-game text ads about how important donations are, nor will anyone be getting pressured by pleas into donating for perks but at the same time I get that it's still a change from our old donations model.

I guess the important thing is that regardless of donator (or any other status, rank or whatever), your respect and acceptance within the MCA community will never be dependent on rank or financial contribution. Interactions are what count the most imho :)

Oh yeah definitely. I just had my reservations about all the special 'powers' people would be getting and how that would affect the community overall. But as you said it is a bit different to the old ways.

We still have a great community, good coversations and a great server. You may not aggree to my opinion of the server, but I'm saying this in advance, do not get angry. Here is my opinion:

When I first joined, alot of the members you see here now, were not on the server when I first arrived. For the past 2 years atleast there has been many changes, not as huge as the donator changes but still changes. Build, factions, pve, creative...they were all changes.

Now, MCA is a legitimate server, what I mean by that is that we get our own materials. Staff does not use any world edit or any stuff like that. It also states in the rules that members should be equal. When the creative feature came, did that change the legitimacy of MCA? Not at all. Because you had to donate for it and that's still how it is.

So, now we have flying and the disguise command. When you first see them there a huge mistake that should never be allowed, but it's not that bad.

Flying is so helpful, and no one is angry about someone else flying. It's something you have to donate for the server, so it's still equal and I think people who have donated still walk more than fly.

So that's my opinion on your statement. I hope I helped. Hopefully I may see you one the server.

I've read like 20% of this.

here's my opinion. Like it or find some other free place to play.

Innings over.

Note to mods: Spam after first post next time. We've already explained our free services and I'm sick of listening to unsupported claims of lies/rumors that turn into 3 pages of infinite loops because everyone loves bashing a factless argument. As much as I would love to write an essay on how wrong all of this context is, someone needs to keep the peace.

Thank you for your expert service. It makes me glad that you never showed up on the server. And yes. I will be finding another place. Because this one has gone to shit.

Glad you read 20% before making a judgement. That sounds like an educated ultimatum. Like it or get out. Glad that after all this talk about listening to the community you can make accurate decisions after knowing a 5th of the information. What great skills.

eatenalive, I like your signoff....

"war does not determine who is right, only who is left"

this has me thinking...

Haha ironic. Oh well. I always was one type of left. And now I guess I'm two.

Hey now, Alien is an awesome guy. Give him a break. We're all friends here.

So true. If anyone can bring a case to justice, its alien. He should be a lawyer.

That is true, but still- it is fun to read arguments which are red-hot.

Liver, why are you commenting on a thread that is 7 and a half months dead? Let old threads die in peace.
