In the fall of 2011, my youngest son showed me the game... I played some single-player peaceful for a time, then realized that multiplayer was a thing. My first multiplayer experience were these creative servers that got wiped every 24 hours, very sketchy stuff, but there were other players in the world, my first multi-player experience.
Eventually I found a server called Romancraft, which I played on for a couple months before it vanished without a trace. At this point I decided it would be wise to spend some time and find a good server to play on, and started searching for servers in Canada, hoping to find something more organized and stable. In early 2012 I found this place and right away I knew I had found my server, and, I was right. I sill love this place and the players here are awesome.

My neighbor's 14 year old got my kids started on it on Pocket Edition (which I played on as well) sometime late last year. Then I figured out how to make a PE server on my laptop so we all could play but it wouldn't be stored on any of our iDevices. And then I broke down and got the full version after finding out the things that could be done on full and not on PE. I played for a while, by myself, in my lonely world, and finally got the guts to search for multiplayer. Found MCA and went from there. I should go check on my peaceful cave house in the single-player world, though. It's been a while. (It's more fun to play when there are people around. It's super lonely in the world by myself where the villagers don't even speak my language.)

i sorta just found a yt vid, this was before MC was hugely popular, back in like 2009/10ish

Found it in '11-'12 one of my brothers had it on his Xbox. Was hooked after that and soon after I got it for PC.

1.7.4 ( the one before enderman's 1.8 ), not sure exactly how far into that ... was tired of my singleplayer worlds getting wiped for no reason (some bug on my computer..) so I found a few servers that were ok, but I liked peaceful, and MCA had that to offer to me so I stayed here. I tell people that this is my first server but it's not really.. just the first really really good one that I found. Has everything that I want on it. firebreather456/Jencks showed me this server.

Since then I guess.

I win! I bought it after seeing some youtube videos and moved to multiplayer after the nether update destroyed half my base (It meant that if you logged out while in the nether the overworld was partly regenerated. I lost half my greenhouse to that. They fixed that bug within hours but still I managed to play between them fixing it.

Other than that simular to Mk, Some of the creative servers for a couple of days. Played on a server called Jdracup's giant gravel pit which then disappeared and then found mca.

Found Minecraft in May of 2010. My high school set up a server for the seniors to play on for fun since we were graduating. Bought August 2010. Played on a server called Mikes Revenge till late 2011. Resigned from there as a high ranking staff member when the server and community took a bad turn that I had no control over. Luckily I had found out about MCA at Minecon 2011 and had visited it a couple times before then so, just made it my new home server. Love you all! Hugs!

I first heard about Minecraft in early 2010, when a couple of friends I played EVE Online with recommended it. I never tried playing the game until 2011 when a RL friend of mine (bicx on MCA, hasn't played in awhile) showed me some projects he had built on MCA. I was impressed with the creative element of Minecraft and bought the game in July of that year. Something about mining and building always draws me to games - I spent 6 years in EVE Online mining asteroids and building ships. :) So MCA was my very first Minecraft experience, I never even bothered with single player. Been a fun ride!

Funny story. I think I had just started I think it was 5th grade in 2012 (I think Near the end of the school year, lol) , and I really liked the hunger games. So I'm on my dad's xbox looking up some hunger games videos like the weirdo I am, and I run into captain sparklez very first hunger games video with all the other youtubers and what ever and I thought this was cool, I want to get this. So I show this to my brother, who then steals my dad's credit card to buy it on the xbox. Excited, I started playing it.

I had absolutely no idea what I was doing.

I think I just swam out to the middle of the ocean, and make this sand square that removed the water, and hollowed it out xD I didnt know anything about crafting and what not and just wanted to kill stuff. Frustrated, I just stopped trying to play it xD

some time in October, my brother asked if we could have a premium account (we had just gotten our very first, and very bad, laptops) my step dad finally gave in and bought us the account. My brother was out of the room at the moment, so I got to pick the name >:D Our mother always called me and logan monkeys because she always mixed up our names, and because we liked to climb stuff and what not. So I thought "hey lets put Monkeyz with a Z because that's cool" but my stepdad, being the weirdo he is, said I should put something from our address in the name, so I took the number, 505, and made Monkeyz505. I played on this one survival server that was a mixture of factions (but rather pods where you survived with a group. It was cool) and a creative server, so I could build. I lost the server IP for the survival server. So me being a really frustrated 6th grader I am, I go to google and searched "the best minecraft server" and on the second page found MCA. I got the IP, and joined the server. I wasn't very smart so it took a while before I joined the forums.

I remember I started playing Minecraft during 1.2.5, but I watched plenty of Minecraft videos for a few months before i actually bought it.

I found it in December 2010 when Beta 1.0 was first released and it started to catch fire....Literally for those of you who remember those days and the ridiculous fire properties. I lost many of my first homes to a failed fireplace -.-

A brothers friend was playing it at my house and I played singleplayer for a week before getting my own account. I introduced the game to my best friend (Gromrock) and we found MCA while googling "cool minecraft servers" after our first server died off. When we got on it was only the now Historic world, and MCA was really expanding, we participated in the first Interstate project and the servers first ventures into PvP, then it was all in the same world. Other than that we kept to ourselves at the most northern part of the map, relitively uninvolved in the MCA community until a member named Birdonawire was just made one of the first Regional Managers with the roll out of regions. I was living in his region and he approached me to work out an issue with my neighbor to the claim next to me not being happy with my cobblestone border on my property. We hit it off and He involved me in a lot of the servers expansion and then trained me to take his place as RM as he was promoted to Moderator. Been here ever since.

Dang, I could write a book about this server...
