Whenever I try joining the server it says it's an outdated server

You must've updated today. When starting up edit your profile to only use 1.6.2 (or whatever the version is)
 
for some reason i cant get this new update. can some one help me on force updating? thank you :D

Wait i has it now. i had to delete all my versions and delete minecraft then download it then click on use latest version. all that trouble for this version that isnt going to last too long xD
