For old times sake we have archived the forums to keep bot spam down and keep the original history of the server archived for future players to browse. We have moved to discord now for a closer community feel. If the server gains a ton more players again like the past the forums will reopen with the original sections archived and locked.

World Map not being updated atm??

I assume that updating this maps costs server resources... but how long does it take to generate each map?

Perhaps automation could be set to once a week 1am or so Monday morning -- or whenever the server observes it's lowest utilization during the week. I think that'd be reasonable, but I really have no idea what goes into it.

Build World Map update would be awesome, it's been quite a while.
 
at the moment, due to some issues, the build map needs to be re-rendered, which would take a couple days to do. we are holding off on the historic world map at the moment

This a two part question, but on the same topic.

1.) How soon does the build map update? I chopped a lot of stuff, and I don't see it updated yet.

2.) I think Dynmap would be a good addition. Keep the old map for land requests. But I hear a lot of "Where are you?" With Dynmap, you can see where the players are. I know how this can go bad in PvP, but in the Building world, this would help much.

1) The world map isnt updating atm, but normally updates daily.

2) We do have a live map for build worlds. Mouse over the "our world" tab and click on "live map"
 
I see the spawning world, where you choose builder, nether, etc. I do not see builder world in the live map. Unless im doing something wrong?

Hover your mouse over the left hand side of the map. There should be a grey-ish bar with an arrow that slides out for you to chose the world. IMO, it should be more obvious.

we are using Dynmap at the moment, but there's a memory leak with it, so we are pulling it as soon as we are able.
 
at the moment, with all of the other things we are working on, the world map is a very very low priority, as that it does not affect actual gameplay. Though Jangles DID do a full re-render the build map on January 22nd; Im not sure if he got to The Addicts.
 
to be honest leprince, jangles doesn't check these threads very often, and hes the only one that does the updates. you will probably have better luck if you PM him.
