The names MrJangles, Pope on steam, Cow on worms armageddon, and Dan IRL. I like servers, games, websites, and I live in a small corner of the internet.
It all started when...
I ran the first third-party server for worms way back. If the main worms server ever went down I was the only second option. I remember picking up the retired compac P2 with no lid off of a skid from a school for $50 and throwing it in my basement with an internet connection. It was literally running in the corner of my room with no monitor, keyboard or mouse. Just power and ethernet. It ran a fine worms server.
Then I got into day of defeat for half-life. I like FPS. I created and built a community that I had to give up after 5 fun fun years. It started as a basement server and worked its way to dedicated. Nothing near as powerful as the new Minecraft server but it did the trick... I made custom maps and organized league play through CAL with a team of about 20 dedicated. Today, www.avamods.com is still running by my (smart!) friend who continues to pay the bills. This day of defeat server once ranked #2 in the north america. The only reason it wasn't #1 is because I refuse to run crowded FPS servers.
During my day of defeat days I got a job as a forum moderator. I would go to work in an office and sit at a computer reading 1000's of ytv.com kids posts a day, approving and deleting them from the que. I did that for 3 years. I studied networking at Humber College but learned web and marketing on the side. I learned how to use DoubleClick for publishers and got deep into whats called ad trafficking for Cineplex, YTV, Edge, Q107. Today, I'm the web systems analyst at Corus Entertainment in the web department. I look over our infrastructure, the technical team, and many servers burning bandwidth like hot cakes.
Welcome to our Minecraft server!
