15th Anniversary Sept 23rd 2025 Celebration video

Back in the Alpha days of 2010,  a little Minecraft server started… and somehow, 15 years later, it’s still running! 😲

We’ve kept it alive through updates, downtime, and countless blocky adventures — and even though our community is small now, it’s still passionate and creative. To celebrate this huge milestone, we put together an anniversary video packed with history, epic builds, and nostalgia from over the years.

If you’ve ever played Minecraft in its early days, or just love seeing long-running projects survive the test of time, this one’s for you.

Old News and Forums

Hey there, awesome Minecraft Addicts! Just a quick heads-up — all those old announcements and news from before 2024 are now hanging out in the Community Forums, kind of like a vintage scrapbook of all the good stuff! Keep in mind, some of those links, signatures, avatars, and images might be feeling a bit expired or out of date since they were hosted on old servers like Imgur or Photobucket.  Plus, some links point back to our previous .com domain, which we don’t have access to anymore. So, a lot of those old forum topics from before 2025 are now locked up tight, with only a few still open — think of it as a cool, classic archive of our server’s history.

Please note if you are returning to the forums you may be required to change your password on login. Thanks for understanding and happy mining!

Server Updated to 1.21.4

I am pleased to announce the successful launch of our new server, updated to version 1.21.4+. Over the past two months, I have dedicated my time to ensuring a smooth transition to this latest version, navigating through numerous configurations, plugins, and various challenges. I am excited to welcome you all back for an enhanced gaming experience.

I've noticed there are some problems and glitches. If you spot any, please tell me in the help-ticket Discord channel!

Please take note of the following important information:

--- IMPORTANT NOTICE ---

To ensure optimal connectivity, we recommend that you delete the server IP from your list and re-add it to remove any outdated data associated with the previous server. The server link remains the same:
server.minecraftaddicts.ca (Port: 25565).

You can also access the new map at: https://server.minecraftaddicts.ca:20099/. This site features both 2D and 3D modes, allowing for exploration as if you were in-game.

Private Warps: A new system has been implemented. As a result, you will be starting afresh; however, if you require assistance, please submit a ticket in the help-tickets channel on Discord. I will be happy to provide a text file containing your previous private warps. Our staff members may also be available to assist you in locating some of these.

Homes: Please be aware that if you are an existing user, your homes may have reset. Previous home settings may not have transferred to the new server.

Balances/Money: Unfortunately, balances did not transfer successfully. We will be manually updating player balances as they rejoin the server, which may take some time, as the balances plugin requires users to log in with the new version for data to populate correctly.

New Features:

Help Menu: An updated and organized menu system replaces the previous format, streamlining navigation for users.

Shop: An upgraded menu system is now in place with revised pricing and improved options for gameplay.

New Claim System for Building: We have implemented a lands system that allows players to claim their own areas in the new build world. A brief tutorial will be provided soon, as the system is user-friendly and includes a teleportation menu.

Old Build: The former build area is now referred to as "Legacy." Both legacy and historic regions remain accessible.

New Kits: Players can now access new kits using the command /kit.

Additionally, ranks are available for purchase, which offer extra commands and assist in covering server expenses. For more information, please visit https://ranks.minecraftaddicts.ca/

If you have received a ban or warning, you can view the related information at https://bans.minecraftaddicts.ca/

Numerous behind-the-scenes enhancements and modifications have been made to retain the functionality of the previous version while improving overall performance.

Thank you for your continued support, and I look forward to seeing you all back in the game!

New Server & New Ownership

Moving Day! No more saves will be made on the old server - we have a scrape from earlier today that we are using on the new hosting. We're working to get the new setup finalized so please give us a bit to get it all working. I repeat - nothing done after this morning will move to the new server.

We are also excited to introduce new leadership for Minecraft Addicts. Jennythegreat, Dph, and CommanderFluffy have graciously taken on the roles of owners and are committed to maintaining the server’s activity and community engagement for years to come. CommanderFluffy is leading efforts to rebuild the website and update the server to the latest version. While this is an ambitious task, it promises to bring many new features and improvements, revitalizing the server after a period of stagnation.

Additionally, we experienced a surge in player interest following a recent YouTube video by RedLynne exploring forgotten Minecraft servers. Interestingly, we had already been in the process of resurrecting the server, and this newfound visibility is very encouraging. We look forward to restoring the server’s former prominence and engaging the community just as it was in the golden days nearly 14 years ago.

Thank you for your continued support. We are excited for what’s ahead!
