A number of people lately asked me about how i make my more complex builds (artificial land that looks natural, and more recently the epicly giant dragon skeleton i'm building).

I wouldn't go through the trouble of actually explaining the process on the forums if there wasn't a certain git on the server convinced i'm using some sort of world hack tool or whatever he was rambling on about...

So how am i making the uber complex skelly with so much detail so accurately? for those who aren't aware of it - I VOXEL A 3D MODEL and then use schematic2blueprint to turn the voxel into a layer by layer blueprints.

So here's the process - first i make a 3d model in Maya (i'm a 3d modeller among other things) - then voxel the 3d model (binvox + patrick min) -> then use schematic2blueprint to use and view the layer-by-layer blueprints.

Here's the link:

This is neither cheating nor hacking nor any suck bollocks, this is just creating a blueprint set that is used alongside MC to properly build really complex builds. That's all. You don't view the blueprints inside MC it's a separate window the two things do not intertwine at any point, at all.

thx for the link!!!!!

making plans is a good thing, IMHO.

have you tried schematica?

i did , and minedraft and some other ones too, but all i need really are schematic2blueprint and binvox/viewvox.

also if you're looking for more blueprints theres a website called mcschematics

for a while i was offering to voxel 3D models for people but i stopped because people are ungrateful twits with no concept of time or understanding for how much time i need for a model or the fact i have a life outside of the bloody game :D

Thanks angel, as mk said planning is a good idea btw what does IMHO mean?

Wow, really impressive stuff, thanks for the info post angel!

Yuuss now I can plan my builds out instead of winging it *victory dance* THE WORLD SHALL TREMBLE IN FEAR OF MY BUILDS

Edit: Tried to type something on another thread via mobile. Somehow ended up here lol
