the time of day on january 30 was not in the first post andrew, that is my question.

ALSO, there has been talk of noobs coming to survival and not finding a place in the world etc.
but these people can join a faction, so I would suggest that there could be some signs put up to help newcomers find a faction,
like a basic set of commands.... say the /f list command and /f help command, and perhaps a bit of info an choosing a faction....

Also, I keep hearing newcomers who are having trouble finding pvp, and I think there could be better signs for that.

just my 2 cents,

mk

oh bother, sorry i was logged to the site as steffen...... that's what happens when you get ppl in the same house doing things together.
LOL

What is the point of knowing the exact time that it will take place. It will probably take place when MrJangles has a chance to that day.

I didn't post a time because my day plans change every hour. I'll be making this change in 1 hour from now. That's 6:45 EST (-5:00)

I'm not on my game, at all. Sorry.

Rescheduled for TONIGHT AT 7:00PM EST

Thanks for getting on the ball! Now, lets see all the procrastinators shoving all their stuff to survival last minute.

Or in my case, not at all. Couldn't get online at the moment and I didn't notice the update on this thread.

Great. The one time I finally choose homework over minecraft, it screws me over. I need to reconsider my priorities.

I had hoped there'd be a little more of an announcement. At least like a new thread or something so it's more noticeable.
Or like maybe... post an announcement a day before the actual change, instead of giving a time window of less than 2 hours.

2 hours can easily be missed. Dinner, Homework, a chat, a movie or whatever.
Sure, it's more than enough to move your stuff over, but if you're not online at that moment, it's not a lot of time.
And I know that we should've moved our stuff before the original deadline. I did.
I bet lots of us did.

The problem is that the place where I hid my stuff was found, so I had to move it somewhere safe for the time.
Next day I come back and I'm stuck with it all in Historic.

What I'm saying is that the new deadline was way to short. If the original one had been kept I wouldn't have had this problem.

Don't see what you're complaining about.
You had an 8 day extension on the original date and time that was set, don't start complaining that there wasn't enough time for you to move your items over.

If you had actually done it the first time then you wouldn't be in this situation...

If you had actually read my post you would understand I did...

The 8 day extension is what screwed me over.
Not the extension directly, but the events that happened in the meantime.

If there had been a second, more easily seen, announcement with more time between it and the deadline, it'd have been fine. But as far as we (the general community) knew yesterday before the announcement, the deadline had been moved indefinitely. Maybe it wasn't going to happen at all for all we knew.

So I decided to move my stuff for one night, and when I come back it's stuck on the wrong side.
I'm very active on the server if I may say so myself, and I had no idea at all it was coming until today, when it was already too late. When even the very active members manage to miss such an important deadline, clearly something has been planned (or not planned at all) wrong.

Oh I read your post. But that obviously isn't true if you still have to move stuff across now.
If you had actually moved your stuff why would you now be complaining that you needed to move more. You're probably going to say that you moved items across and used them up in the meantime, stating that you never actually moved many items across to start with because there's no possible way that you could have used them that quickly.

You and others have asked on the server when the change will take place so you cannot say 'I'm very active on the server if I may say so myself, and I had no idea at all it was coming until today'
Whilst you did not get a direct date when you asked on the server, you and other have been told that Jangles has been busy but the change will still be taking place, most likely in the next few days, which it did...

Get over it and move on assault.

I had move 5 chests of stuff into survival.
Had to move 3 of them back because they were found and were still locked from before locking was disabled.
I moved the stuff yesterday. Came on today to find out I couldn't move it back.

All I'm saying is that I find it very inconsiderate to make the change so suddenly, EVEN if it was originally set for the week before.
We had no way of knowing what the final deadline was until less than two hours before it happened. If someone (like me, in this case) had logged off before the announcement for the day, and came back, hmm, lets say... the next day, as soon as he could... he'd have no way of knowing what would've happened in the meantime. If the announcement had been, like, a day before, even, he'd have had a chance of knowing that he absolutely had to move his chests back beforehand.

I'm not saying that there should never have been the inventory split. I'm sure it'll work out the problems it was designed to do.
All I'm saying is that there was too little information, too late.

items should have been moved last week. if you have not then that is your fault.

end of disccussion.
